KIB’s Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah Receives 2nd Consecutive Leadership Award From London-based World Finance Magazine



World Finance Magazine, the critically-acclaimed financial magazine headquartered in London, has awarded the Chairman of Kuwait International Bank, Sheikh Mohammed Jarrah Al-Sabah, with the prestigious “Business Leadership and Outstanding Contribution to the GCC Economy” award for the second consecutive year at the London Stock Exchange.

The award recognizes the valuable contribution Sheikh Mohammed has made to the GCC business environment during 2014 as he led KIB to new heights of financial success. Upon receiving the honor, Sheikh Mohammed stressed that his achievement reflects on the excellence of KIB, its employees and the broader Kuwaiti banking sector.

Earlier this year, KIB had its long-term credit rating upgraded from A- to A+ by Fitch Ratings Inc. and was declared 2014 Best Islamic Bank in Kuwait by World Finance Magazine.

In addition to achieving strong financial performance, KIB has played an important role in driving local economic growth, particularly on the SME’s front, by supporting numerous projects in an effort to diversify the Kuwaiti economy.

Sheikh Mohammed also emphasized the determination of KIB to act as an innovative force within the Islamic banking sector by continuing to develop its products and services, expand its branch network, cater to SME’s, provide to construction & contracting companies and focus on modern banking needs in accordance with Islamic Shariah. He added that KIB maintains a strong online presence through social media channels and its website, stressing the important role communication plays in customer satisfaction.

In addition to enjoying a distinguished track record in the banking & financial industry, Sheikh Mohammed represents Kuwait at the Union of Arab Banks, where he has highlighted Kuwait’s growing importance in the Arab banking sphere in the face of regional challenges.
