KIB Receives 4th Consecutive PCI DSS 3.0 Certification

Kuwait International Bank - ranked 2014 Best Islamic Bank in Kuwait - has attained the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) 3.0 Certification & Attestation of Compliance in recognition of its leadership position in the field of information security following a comprehensive and thorough evaluation of its networks, policies and procedures by the authorized auditing company SISA, placing KIB as one of the first Kuwaiti banks to receive the certification.

“By receiving the PSI CSS 3.0 certification, KIB confirms its solid commitment towards meeting the highest standards in information security in order to protect customers’ data against the various types of fraud that exist in the banking industry,” commented Eman Abdulwahab Altabtabai, Senior Manager, Technical Support and Planning, and the PCI DSS Project Manager at KIB.

Altabtabai added that KIB met more than 200 requirements related to their security systems, applications, customer database and networks to ensure that customers receive the best service levels that match the trust they place in the bank while conducting their banking activities.

“The certification and attestation reflects the continuous adherence to the latest security standards which help to ensure protection and confidentiality of credit and debit cards at each point of use. With the growing cyber-attacks witnessed by the banking industry worldwide, KIB takes these concerns to heart and had adopted a comprehensive strategy which addresses internal and external factors. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure protection of sensitive data as the bank further develops its e-banking services,” explained Basil Al-Suwaidan, Head of Information Security Unit at KIB.
