KIB Concludes 2014 Islamic Banking Seminar Program

As part of its strategy to further develop the skills of its staff, KIB has concluded its 11-seminar Islamic banking training program for 2014 with the final training course having took place earlier this month.

The most recent seminar tackled the topic of “Developing Islamic Banking Products” and saw the instruction of 20 trainees over a three-day period.

Dr. Hisham Abdul Hai, Shariah Coordinator at KIB, explained that the seminar dealt with investing in futures, parallel Istisna'a contract, BOT Contracts and included discussion on practical situations where these topics would apply. He mentioned that the trainees exhibited positive enthusiasm throughout the three-day period.

Abdul Hai added that internal training is a high priority for KIB, and the Shariah Board works closely with the Human Resources Department in order to keep its staff at the forefront of the Islamic banking field. He stressed that Islamic banking and finance continues to experience remarkable growth on local, regional and international fronts.
